Zalo AI can translate incoming and drafted messages, while Number Checking prepares and evaluates a phone list. Learn where the two workflows meet—and where they must remain separate.
Zalo AI Translation and Zalo Number Checking solve different stages of cross-border communication. Translation helps people understand and compose messages after a conversation exists. A Number Checker prepares a phone list and returns defined account or activity observations before an approved outreach workflow. Neither function creates consent or proves buyer intent.
What Zalo officially says about translation
Zalo’s Auto-translate help page describes translation of incoming messages and suggested translation while composing. The user selects a language pair and can still view original content. This is a conversation feature, not a lead-discovery system.
What Number Checking answers
AIPUSH Zalo Registration can return phone and registration status. Zalo Activity can return phone, user ID, activity time, nickname and active days. These fields describe a task observation; they do not expose message text and do not determine what language a person prefers.
Keep the workflows in the right order
| Stage | Question | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| List intake | May this phone be processed? | Source, purpose, permission |
| Number check | What defined fields were observed? | Timestamped Excel output |
| Message decision | May the organization contact this person? | Consent and suppression state |
| Translation | How can both sides understand the conversation? | Selected language pair and original text |
Do not infer language from a +84 phone
A Vietnamese number does not prove that its holder wants Vietnamese, lives in Vietnam or cannot read another language. Language should come from a user selection or an established preference. Translation can then support the chosen pair without turning country code into a personal profile.
A safe TXT-to-Excel handoff
Upload TXT with one phone per line. Keep names, language preference, orders and permission in the organization’s internal crosswalk. Let the task Excel land in staging and rejoin by batch key. A mapped user ID or nickname must not overwrite the CRM record automatically.
Translation errors need a recovery path
Product names, prices, legal terms and addresses can be mistranslated. Keep the original message visible, allow the recipient to correct the language, and route high-impact wording to a bilingual reviewer. Do not treat a fluent translation as evidence that the underlying offer is accurate.
Activity is not a signal to start messaging
A recent activity observation may help time a permitted service conversation, but it does not create contact rights. Opt-out and suppression records always win. The organization should also define when activity expires instead of keeping a permanent “active lead” label.
A practical cross-border operating model
Measure list exceptions, returned fields, unknowns, translation corrections and opt-outs separately. This makes it possible to learn whether failure came from data quality, permission, language or the offer itself. Combining all four into “Zalo performance” hides the action required.
