Article summary
Compare WA/WS and TG registration, activity, demographic and full-format schemas without assuming similarly named tasks return the same evidence.
The central difference between WhatsApp and Telegram number checking is the task schema—not the platform logo. Tasks with similar names return different columns, identifiers and missing-state semantics. CRM needs platform-specific observation domains rather than one vague “social account valid” field.
Registration is narrow but still not permission
WS Registration and TG Registration center on phone and registration result. They describe a current platform observation and do not prove identity, activity, contact permission or purchase intent. One phone may be registered on one platform and not the other.
Activity schemas differ substantially
| Platform | Activity task fields | Identifier feature |
|---|---|---|
| Phone, activity time, active days, mapped phone | Mapped relationships need review | |
| Telegram | Phone, UserID, username, offline time, active days, First/Last Name, VIP, frozen | Richer account-state identifiers |
Profile tasks cannot be aligned into one universal column
WS Gender and Age includes phone, age, gender, avatar and mapped phone. TG Gender and Age adds avatar URL, age and gender to its activity-related schema. Sources, coverage and identifiers differ, so their demographic distributions are not directly comparable.
A map of Full Format
| Platform | Wider field focus | Governance focus |
|---|---|---|
| WS | Activity, profile, avatar, skin tone, avatar type, business account, mapped phone | Relationship collisions and sensitive inference |
| TG | Activity/account schema plus skin tone, avatar type and people count | UserID history and frozen state |
Select by question, not “do everything on this platform”
Use Registration for registration alone and Activity only when recency matters. Profile and Full Format require an approved purpose that changes a low-risk decision. More columns create more access and retention cost.
TXT looks similar while reconciliation differs
AIPUSH accepts one phone per line as TXT and exports Excel for both platforms. The internal crosswalk retains contact_id and phone_raw. WS mapped phones, TG UserIDs and usernames belong in separate relationship tables.
Do not interchange UserID and mapped phone
TG UserID is a platform identifier, while a WS mapped phone is a phone-relationship clue. Neither replaces CRM contact_id or proves the same individual across platforms.
Maintain a missing-value dictionary per platform
Not returned, unknown, unavailable, error and explicit negative remain separate. A blank TG frozen field and blank WS mapping do not mean the same thing. A generic importer must not convert every empty cell to false.
Date activity and frozen observations
Active days, offline time, VIP and frozen state can change and need checked_at plus refresh_after. Preserve historical observations and stop relying on stale data rather than overwriting it as the latest truth.
Permission remains outside both platforms
WhatsApp registration does not permit a Telegram private message, or vice versa. Permission stores channel and scope, and opt-out applies accordingly. Telegram’s official rules also allow reports of unwelcome stranger messages.
The defensible comparison
Both platforms support phone-based tasks, but they return different evidence. Choose platform from customer channel preference, task from decision fields and contact eligibility from permission. One checking result must not decide all three.
