Telegram Number Checking Before Bulk Messaging: Permission and Restriction Risk

TG number checking can reduce format and platform-state noise, but it cannot make unsolicited bulk messaging safe or restriction-proof.

Article summary

TG number checking can reduce format and platform-state noise, but it cannot make unsolicited bulk messaging safe or restriction-proof.

Checking a TG list before bulk messaging solves only part of the question “is this phone file ready for the next data step?” It does not answer “will these people welcome the message?” Telegram registration, recent activity and username fields do not remove report, restriction or brand risk. Review the relationship between the list and the message before evaluating technical fields.

Apply a red-amber-green decision first

Status List context Action
Green The user initiated an inquiry, explicitly subscribed or has an existing service relationship; the message matches that scope Check frequency and opt-out before sending
Amber Former customer, partner-supplied contact or a changed purpose Verify the basis and reasonable expectation; obtain fresh permission where needed
Red Purchased, scraped, copied from groups or otherwise unexplained stranger list Do not broadcast; checking cannot legitimize the source

What number checking can clean up

TG Registration returns phone and registration state for basic platform-status organization. TG Activity can additionally return TG UserID, username, offline time, active days, First Name, Last Name, TG VIP state and frozen state. These values help resolve formatting noise, document a run and prioritize manual review. They do not demonstrate that a recipient expects a commercial message.

Why an active user may still report the sender

Activity describes a dated platform observation, not a relationship with your organization. Someone who uses Telegram every day may have no knowledge of your brand. Telegram’s official Spam FAQ explains that private messages can be reported when recipients find them unwelcome and repeated unsolicited contact may lead to longer restrictions. Number checking cannot change recipient expectations or platform enforcement.

The minimum pre-send risk checklist

  • The team can identify the form, order, event or conversation that produced the phone number.
  • The user was told what category of Telegram communication to expect.
  • Opt-outs, complaints, invalid records and do-not-contact entries have been suppressed.
  • The message clearly identifies the sender, purpose and way to stop future contact.
  • Frequency and local time are reasonable; multiple accounts are not used to bypass limits.
  • The first send uses a controlled cohort with human monitoring and a stop threshold.

Design a stop system before launch

Do not wait for an account limit. Pause a cohort when source evidence is missing. Send mapping conflicts to manual review. Write opt-outs and negative replies to a suppression table immediately. Stop later waves when complaint or block signals rise unexpectedly. If the platform displays a restriction, do not switch accounts and continue; review the source and message that created the response.

Where TXT and Excel belong

AIPUSH accepts phone numbers as TXT only, normally one normalized number per line. Keep phone_raw, source, permission_scope and contact_id inside the company system. After the selected task completes, download Excel, add batch_id and checked_at, and reconcile it in staging. A record can enter a communication queue only after it passes permission, suppression and purpose checks that are independent of the TG result.

Do not use profile fields to justify aggressive contact

Gender, age, avatar, username, VIP status or an AI-generated “high intent” label should not increase send frequency. These fields may be missing, stale or misinterpreted, and none directly captures message expectation. Stronger positive signals come from a user reply, a submitted request, a selected Telegram channel or an explicit subscription made after a clear disclosure.

The sending tool is not the only source of risk

Manually sending to the same unwelcome list does not make the behavior safe. Conversely, a necessary service notification should not be expanded into promotional copy merely because the channel works. Assign separate owners to platform reachability, lawful contact basis, message content, frequency controls and opt-out feedback. Separation makes the real failure layer visible.

The correct outcome after checking

The objective is not a larger “sendable TG” list. It is a smaller queue with explainable provenance, a defined purpose and a working stop mechanism. When a phone number has no defensible source or reasonable expectation, the safest screening decision is not to send.
