A Jamaica WhatsApp Activity check should not run merely because a phone starts with +1, and “active days” must not be translated into purchase intent. Jamaica is part of the North American Numbering Plan and uses the 876 and 658 overlay codes. Activity is a timestamped state. An error in either country routing or time interpretation distorts every later ranking.

A numbering notice from Jamaica’s Office of Utilities Regulation, published by the ITU, confirms both NPA 876 and NPA 658, with international formats +1 876 NXX XXXX and +1 658 NXX XXXX. +1 also covers the United States, Canada and other NANP territories, so NPA parsing is mandatory.

An overlay code is not a new-versus-old customer label
After its introduction, 658 overlays the same geographic area as 876. It must not be interpreted as a newer user, lower-value phone or particular city. Portability and long possession further weaken carrier and location inference. NPA supports phone routing, not customer scoring.
What WS Activity returns
AIPUSH WS Activity may export phone, activity time, active days and mapped WhatsApp phone. It does not return purchase intent, reply probability, conversations or marketing permission. “Recently observed activity” and “wants commercial communication” are separate propositions.

Cross-time-zone teams must not guess spreadsheet dates
A Jamaica operator, an Asia analysis team and a server can occupy different calendar dates. Staging retains the raw time, source zone and normalized UTC value, while the interface renders a selected business zone. If a field contains only a date with no zone, record its limited precision rather than inventing midnight.
Safe TXT-to-CRM rejoining
Upload TXT with one confirmed Jamaica phone per line and no name, location, order or permission. An internal crosswalk retains contact_id, NPA routing and batch_row. Exported Excel lands in staging and rejoins through the batch key; a mapped-phone collision never overwrites the primary phone automatically.
Use decay buckets instead of permanent rank
A business may define recent, aging and expired buckets, but thresholds come from its actual decision window and are versioned. Expired activity stops influencing priority. Recheck only a small permitted cohort near real use, not the complete database on a loop.
Permission always has a veto
Registration or recent activity cannot override an opt-out, refusal or unknown provenance. Before sending, read permission, purpose, frequency and suppression state. An activity observation can at most help time service within an already permitted cohort; it creates no new right to contact.
Report the correct denominator
The handoff separately counts 876, 658, other NPAs, format exceptions, duplicates, task unknowns, fresh and expired activity, adding checked time, time zone, mapping collisions, permitted use and deletion date. That prevents false country assignment and stale observations from inflating a Jamaica activity rate.
