The most damaging mistake in a Cyprus WhatsApp list is not a stray space. It is treating “a contact from Cyprus” and “a person using a +357 phone” as the same population. Someone submitting a Limassol property inquiry may provide a UK phone, while a +357 subscriber may currently live elsewhere. A Full-Format project should therefore keep numbering attribution, contact provenance and screening observations as separate evidence streams.
+357 supports numbering attribution, not physical location
The Cyprus regulator’s national numbering plan published through the ITU shows an eight-digit national significant number and distinguishes uses such as fixed and mobile services by leading ranges. This is useful for deciding whether a value resembles a number managed under the Cyprus plan. It does not establish where its holder is now, what language the person prefers or what kind of buyer the person may be.
Define the business question before cleaning
A travel operator may need a reachable pre-arrival contact. A property team may need a follow-up route and an explicitly selected language. An ecommerce support team needs the phone to match an order. A legacy CRM may first need duplicate and truncation repair. Although all four datasets can contain +357 values, they should not inherit the same “Cyprus prospect” or “high-value lead” label.

Do not add +357 to an orphaned eight-digit value
An undecorated eight-digit phone becomes a Cyprus candidate only when the form explicitly selected Cyprus, the source was genuinely restricted to that market, or another reliable country field supports the conversion. If Excel has converted the value to scientific notation, removed a leading character or mixed it with an extension, the original may no longer be recoverable. Marking an exception is safer than completing it with a familiar prefix.
Full Format is a set of observations, not an identity record
AIPUSH WS Full Format may return phone, activity time, active days, gender, age, avatar, skin tone, avatar type, business status and mapped WhatsApp phone. “May return” matters: null remains null, a mapped phone differing from the input requires review, and profile-related outputs should not be presented as attributes certified by WhatsApp or by the individual.
Accept the workbook by field family
- Number family: phone and mapped phone, used to inspect the input-to-result relationship.
- Recency family: activity time and active days, accompanied by checked_at and an expiry rule.
- Account family: business observation and avatar visibility at the check time.
- Profile family: gender, age, skin tone and avatar type, with unknown states and strict limits on use.
Keep TXT deliberately narrow
The upload is a TXT file with one phone per line. Names, email addresses, hotels, order values, language preferences and permission evidence remain in the organization’s own CRM. A batch_id and internal contact_id provide the crosswalk. An exception rerun then does not require unrelated personal information to be uploaded again.
Cyprus lists need language evidence from people
Greek, Turkish, English or another communication preference must come from a user’s selection, a support conversation or an existing business record. Neither country code nor avatar is adequate language evidence. For a legacy record with no preference, a neutral confirmation is more defensible than inferring language from +357.
Measure conflicts instead of spreadsheet fullness
An acceptance report should show input rows, unique phones, formatting exceptions, unknown fields, mapping collisions, check date and provenance. The percentage of populated cells in a wide workbook is not a quality measure. Quality is the ability to explain where each value came from, when it expires and what happens when evidence disagrees.
A well-run Cyprus workflow does not force every business contact into +357. It distinguishes numbers consistent with the current plan, contacts wrongly classified by the place where business occurred, short-lived observations and records that must remain unresolved.
