A five-stage launch checklist for cross-border sellers entering Vietnam: prelaunch evidence, first Zalo task, Excel acceptance, support routing and review.
A cross-border seller entering Vietnam should not begin by running its entire global legacy phone database through Zalo number checking. Start with a Vietnam use case, phone provenance, customer-selected language and channel, then validate the task, fields and support handoff on a small real cohort. The following checklist moves from zero to launch.
Stage one: define the market-entry use case
| Question | Qualified example | Unqualified answer |
|---|---|---|
| Who | Voluntary Vietnam-site inquiries from 60 days | Every Southeast Asia phone |
| Why | Route requested quotes to local support | See what fields appear |
| When it ends | Quote window closes or user opts out | Permanent use |
| Owner | Vietnam support lead | Unowned shared spreadsheet |
Stage two: review +84 evidence
Preserve phone_raw and country_evidence and generate phone_normalized under current Vietnam rules. Treat national prefix, country code, legacy notation and mixed-country files separately. A row without Vietnam evidence becomes an exception; a filename saying “Vietnam” is not enough to add +84 to everything.
Stage three: choose the narrowest task
Zalo Registration returns phone and registration result. Activity adds user ID, activity time, nickname and active days. Gender and Age may add gender, age, avatar, people count, type and skin tone. Select only what the current decision needs, not a wide task as a substitute for market research.
Stage four: prepare the first TXT
Draw a small sample across approved source and format strata. An AIPUSH TXT contains one phone per line and no name, order, language, address or permission. The internal crosswalk stores batch_row, contact_id, source stratum and normalization version; calculate a file hash.
Stage five: build the Excel acceptance sheet
| Check | Pass condition | Owner |
|---|---|---|
| Schema | Columns exactly match task | Data owner |
| Quantity ledger | Input, returns, unknowns and errors reconcile | Operations |
| Join | CRM link does not depend on row order | Engineering |
| Coverage | Nulls reported by source stratum | Analytics |
| Retention | Observations and temporary files have deletion dates | Compliance/security |
Prepare Vietnamese support before launch
preferred_language comes from customer choice, not +84 or nickname. Prepare Vietnamese service copy, a human escalation path, local hours and opt-out handling. Observing registration without a team able to continue in an appropriate language merely increases friction.
Do not let checking bypass contact permission
Registration and activity observations create no marketing authorization. The queue still joins source, purpose, channel_scope, opt_out and frequency. A recent observation cannot reactivate an opt-out, and sales pressure cannot turn unknown into registered.
Set first-week guardrails
Limit daily volume entering the human queue and monitor reply quality, opt-outs, complaints and exception tickets. Pause when a negative metric crosses its written threshold. A normal first return does not justify importing every historic record.
The first-month review is not “how many found”
Review reconciliation, unknowns, support response, resolution, user choice, cost per useful conversation and complaints. Report observed registration coverage separately from business outcomes so a technical hit does not become market success.
When to expand and when to stop
Expand to another source only when fields are stable, exceptions manageable, support has capacity, customer experience passes and unit value works. A new country, task or purpose begins with another sample. Stop collecting when the result does not change operations.
The one-page launch checklist
Launch after market use case, phone evidence, task, TXT hash, schema, reconciliation, language, permission, guardrails, retention and owners are checked. Zalo number checking creates value when correctly embedded in Vietnam operations—not when it merely produces a wider workbook.
